The Story
Born in 1912 in Madurai, Mani Iyer was a prodigy of music who rose to fame in his youth. His voice, his speed, and his joy in singing made his concerts events of extraordinary excitement, and he became one of the most popular musicians of the South — his concerts drawing crowds wherever he performed.
